Gorepani Poon Hill Trekking

Ghorepani Poon Hill trekking is very short, easy and sweet trekking route which is located to the west of beautiful city Pokhara in Annapurna region. This trek offers a wide varities of rohododendron flowers,multi ethnic cultures,excellant views of Dhaulagiri panoramic Himalayan range and Annapurna panoramic Himalayan range including two peak more than 8000m high in the region. The highest altitude of this trek is 3200m Poon Hill a very lovely and amazing view points for the trekkers from where we can see several super views of mountain peaks like Annapurna I,Dhaulagiri I,Nilgiri peak,Tukuche peak,Dhampus peak,Himchuli peak,sacred Machhapuchchhre peak,Butterfly peak etc. This trek starts from Pokhara direct fly from Kathmandu or by tourist bus. We offer following itinerary for Gorepani Poon Hill Trekking.

TRIP DETAILS GOREPANI POON HILL TREKKING

Trekking Title: Gorepani Poon HIll Trekking

Maximum Elevation: 3200m.

Walking Level: 5-7 hours per day.

Trekking Duration: 8 Days

Mode of Operation: Tea House Lodge Trekking.

Best Season: Mar, Apr, May & Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec.

Trip Grade: Moderate

Group size: Minimum: 2 people to Maximum: 18 people

 

 
Itinerary [8 days] Gorepani Poon Hill Trekking

Day 01
Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.) which takes about six hours.
This drive will take most of the morning, leaving much of the afternoon to fall in love with the beauty of Pokhara. You can also fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 25 minutes. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 02

Drive from Pokhara (915 m.) to Nayapul (1050m.) by car which takes one and a half hour’s drive. You then begin your trek from Nayapul (1050m.) to Tikhedhunga (1577 m.) via Birethanti (1065m.) which takes about four and half hours. The first part of your trek is comfortable, passing through numerous small villages and settlements. Afterward, you ascend gently to the final destination of the day. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 03
Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani (2675 m.) takes about six hours. Your trek begins with a steep ascent for the early 2 hours and then ascends gently passing through Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti, Magar villages. On the way, you see good views of Machhapuchhre or Fish Tail (6997m.), Huinchuli (6441m.), and Annapurna (7219m.) south. Your trail then becomes much easier passing through forest until descending gently to the final camp. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 04 Tal
Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3180m.) to Tadapani (2675m.) which takes about five and half hours. Early morning trip to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhre (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. En- route, you frequently see waterfalls, rocks, wild animals, local birds and green vegetation. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 05
Trek from Tadapani (2675m.) to Ghandruk (1950m.) takes about three hours. It is an easy descent all the way passing through dense forests of oak, rhododendrons and fir. This is a popular destination for bird lovers. Ghandruk is a big Gurung village. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 06
Trek from Ghandruk (1950m.) to Pothana (1990m.) which takes about six hours. First part of your trek is a steep descent following a stone staircase to Kimbu (Bee hive). Kimbu is located at the elevation of 1200 meters on the bank of the Modi Khola. Now, your trail steeply ascends following the stone staircase up to Landruk. The trail ascends gently for early two hours and again ascends steeply for an hour to Deurali (2150m.) passing through Tolkha village (1850m.). From this point you can see panoramic views of Dhaulagiri I (8167m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Hiunchuli (6441m.), Fishtail (6997m.), Annapurna III (7755m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.) and Lamjung Himal (6930m.). From here the trail descends gently down to Dhampus, passing through Pothana village (1900m.). Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 07
Trek from Pothana to Dhampus Phedi (1113m.) which takes about four hours. Your trail descends gradually for at least an hour and follows a gravel road for two hours to then steeply descend to Phedi passing through Dhampus village, paddy fields and forest protected by the local community. Upon your arrival at Dhampus Phedi, you can take a vehicle to reach Pokhara. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 08
Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist mini bus that takes about seven hours. While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. En- route, you can enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people engaged in their daily work. From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to the capital city. You can also fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu which takes about 25 minutes.

• All airport/Hotel transfers service by private car or tourist mini bus according to group size.
• 2 star level Hotel in Kathmandu at Thamel touristic city with breakfast except lunch and dinner.
• Welcome drinks will be served at hotel after arrival then trip briefing will be given by our company responsible.
• All lodging or camping and hygienic food with hot drinks during the trekking.
• Salary, insurance, trekking equipment, flight tickets, bus tickets, food and lodging for all staffs.
• Tourist bus or domestic flights and airport taxes as mentioned in above itinerary.
• An experienced & professional English or French speaking trekking guide or Mountain guide according to your demand, assistant trekking guides, chef cook, assistant cooks for camping trekking only and porters to carry your luggage.
ATTENTION: We give you 1 porter for 2 clients. 1 porter carries only 20kg in tea house trekking and 30 kg in camping trekking according to syndicate of Nepal porters association.
• All necessary formalities and Trekking permits, peak permits, expedition permits, National park fees, TIMS Card etc according to trip nature.
• All government and local taxes will be paid by our company.

TRIP COST EXCLUDES:
• Nepal visa fee 40 USD for a month. Nepal visa can be obtained at your country in Nepalese consulate office before arrival in Nepal or you can get Nepal visa after arrival in Kathmandu airport.
• International Airfare to and from Kathmandu.
• Excess baggage charges.
• Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu because of early arrival, late departure, early return from mountain (Due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary.
• Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu (And also in the case of early return from mountain than the scheduled itinerary).
• Travel, Trekking and Helicopter Rescue insurance.
• Personal high altitude medicines, first aid kits, equipments, gears, cloths etc.
• Personal expenses (Phone Calls, Laundry, bar bills during the trekking, Battery recharge of camera or mobile, extra porters if you wish to take, mineral water, Shower etc).
• Tips for Guides and Porters according to custom of trekking in Nepal since long though this is not obligation if your trip is not satisfied with our staffs.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
For the camping trekking, you should not bring any utensils, mattress, tents, ropes, pillow, toilet papers etc from your country. We will be provided these all by our trekking company. But you should bring your personal: medicines for high altitude, first aid kits, equipments, sleeping bags, gears and cloths as we suggested in our website.
